At Cambrils Park, we transform water!
With an investment of almost €200,000, we have improved the efficiency of our treatment plant with a state-of-the-art ultrafiltration system.
Now, we recycle and reuse water from sinks, showers, and the rinsing of pool filter cleanings, using it in two-thirds of our accommodations, as well as for irrigation and fire protection.This innovation will allow us to save an impressive amount of 55,000 m3 of water per year!At Cambrils Park Resort, we are committed to a greener and more sustainable future.
Initiatives in sustainability and environmental matters
Over the past few years, we've launched various initiatives and measures to reduce our ecological footprint while promoting education and awareness in sustainability among our guests and team members.

We want to share these accomplishments with you!ISO Standards Certifications
At Cambrils Park Resort we have 3 of the most relevant ISO certifications, two of which are related to the environment and sustainability.
- UNE-EN ISO14001:2015 for environmental management systems through which we reduce the impact of our activities to ensure environmental protection.
- UNE-EN ISO50001:2018 for energy management systems that ensure responsible energy use during the course of our activities.
- UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems, the application of which guarantees us the use of an effective system that helps us continually improve our customer satisfaction.
Thermal and Photovoltaic Solar Energy
At Cambrils Park Resort, we employ two types of solar technologies. On one hand, we have photovoltaic solar panels that harness the sun's radiation to generate electricity. On the other hand, we utilize solar thermal panels that convert solar energy into heat, providing us with sanitary hot water.
The photovoltaic installations are strategically placed on the roofs of various buildings throughout the resort, including the supermarket, Restaurant Forum, the laundry, and offices, among others. Together, they cover a total area of 2,057 m2 and have prevented the emission of 268 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. Incredible achievements that fill us with pride!
In addition, we've installed 3 solar thermal plants that provide sanitary hot water to the Fitness & Spa, all our apartments in La Mediterrània area, and some of the Villa Bonita accommodations in El Carib area.Energy Efficiency
We have adopted multiple and versatile strategies to make our energy use much more efficient. Here are just a few examples:
- Over 98% of the luminaires are LED and/or energy-efficient.
- The people who work at Cambrils Park move around the Resort using zero-emission electric vehicles that are charged using energy from the photovoltaic panels.
- Our technical installations feature several control and saving systems that enable us to reduce gas, water, and electricity consumption.
- The air conditioning units have a thermostat lock system preventing temperatures from fluctuating outside the 19-27ºC range, set to ensure sustainable thermal comfort.
- In the last two years (2023-2024), more than three hundred air conditioning units in Villa Bonita and La Mediterrània accommodations have been replaced with much more energy-efficient ones.
The 7R of the Circular Economy
At Cambrils Park, we are committed to the 7 R's of the circular economy: redesign, reduce, reuse, repair, renew, recover, and recycle. To this end, we have adopted specific actions:
- We provide our guests with 10 selective collection points to facilitate recycling during their stay. Additionally, all guests receive an ecological cleaning kit upon arrival at the accommodation.
- In 2024, we are installing two smart packaging recycling machines, becoming pioneers in the tourism sector with their installation. Through a mobile application, customers who recycle containers in these machines will receive rewards that they can redeem during their stay at the resort. With these machines, we anticipate recovering 11 tons!
- IInternally, not only do we create magical moments for families, but we also recycle the waste resulting from our business activities.
- Before purchasing, we first think of repairing. We always aim to give a second life to what can be repaired, ensuring its full functionality. If it can't be repaired, we seek another use for it before discarding.
- As part of our contribution to the circular economy, we provide the furniture replaced during the renovation of accommodations for free to the people working in the company and charitable entities, thus giving them a second useful life.
Redefining Sustainability in our establishments
In our shops and supermarkets, we also help customers reduce their environmental impact:
- In the fruit section, we provide our customers with compostable bags.
- The shopping bags from our supermarkets are made from over 70% recycled material and are, in turn, recyclable.
- Furthermore, we've made available reusable bags for our customers. They can use these during their stay and take them as a memento, knowing they're acquiring a product made in Spain, 100% recyclable and reusable, with 70% recycled material and harmless inks.
- In bakeries and cafés, customers can bring their own containers for take-away drinks if they wish.
Fighting Food Waste
We are also committed to combating food waste, which is why we offer our customers the opportunity to take away any leftover food when they dine in our restaurants.
As part of our social action policy, we have signed an agreement with the official confederation of charitable and social action entities (Cáritas), to whom we donate unprocessed food from our supermarkets, as well as toys, clothes, and other items in good condition left behind by our guests at the end of their stay.Guardians of our natural environment
At Cambrils Park we coexist with over 70 varieties of plant species and at least 17 bird species. All of this makes the Resort a vibrant ecosystem!
- We prioritize the use of biological agents for pest control.
- We've introduced diatomaceous earth as a natural eco-friendly insecticide. Formed from algal fossils, it's known for its repellent properties.
- We shred plant residues from pruning to use as mulch. Spread on the ground, it protects the soil and naturally returns nutrients to it.
- We plant native plant species with low water requirements. Apart from water savings, they adapt better to the environment and don't introduce new pests from exotic locations.
- We provide training sessions for our Gardening, Quality, and Environmental staff on the biological management of pests with a comprehensive and sustainable approach.

This initiative isn't just about pampering you; it's also our way of supporting eco-friendly practices that respect both animals and the planet.

Controlled Cat Colony
Cambrils Park covers an approximate area of 15 outdoor hectares, filled with lush vegetation and bustling human activity, which makes it very attractive for cats. Our way of caring for them and maintaining balance involves keeping the cat colony well-looked after and controlled.
- We have food and drink supply points where the cats visit daily. This ensures they are in good health and can coexist harmoniously with the visiting families.
- We run sterilisation campaigns to control the growth of the colony. Over the last eight years, we have sterilised more than 200 cats.
- Whenever required, the cats receive veterinary care. We provide them with the appropriate treatment, care for and monitor them until they recover and can return freely to their colony.
- We have a cat adoption programme. People working at the campsite, and the residing families can adopt after an evaluation of the adoption by the Quality and Environment team of Cambrils Park.
- Since 2013, we have collaborated with a local animal welfare entity.
Children's Awareness activities
Our little ones are the future of the planet, which is why, during holidays, we don't forget to include sustainability and the natural environment in our educational leisure activities.
